Hi there, my name is Lily Gardner. I am currently attending the University of Utah in Salt Lake City, and am set to graduate this May (2018).
Our university’s EAE program shares the #1 and #2 undergraduate/graduate national ranking spots with University of Southern California’s Games program. The Entertainment, Arts, and Engineering program at the U of U focuses on providing an industry-accurate studio environment for students in order to best prepare them for entering the industry post-graduation; my minor is in Creative Writing.
While I am focused on the art side of the major, I aspire to be a producer in the industry. My undergraduate experience has afforded me the privilege to gain experience in that role on four or five different projects over the course of my degree. My extensive work history and time spent in management positions has also afforded me valuable experience in that aspect as well. As of right now, I am working as the producer/team lead for our capstone project, Telophase.
Thundaga.net is my portfolio, but it also is home to my educational blog. Over the course of my major, I will be posting updates on class projects, assignments, and other happenings on campus. The portfolio will be kept up-to-date with what projects I finish at the end of every semester. They are categorized by type of art and individual project within those categories.
Feel free to leave comments on entries; I would love to see what fellow EAE majors create and are experiencing as well 🙂
You can contact me at email@example.com. Please check out my portfolio for more information regarding my experience! My profile has more in-depth information about me, and a link to my resume is below:
“Lily is an excellent producer for her team, and gives great presentations that detail the team’s work. She always puts the team first, and uses her communication skills to facilitate the best out of every member. She is a great candidate for a game producer position.”
– Tri Nguyen, Game Designer @ Hathos Interactive
“I have known Lily for many years including time mentoring her on her career path and goals. Many things become quickly visible when you first meet Lily. First is that she demonstrates a maturity far beyond her young years. Second, she is an efficient communicator, both succinct and direct, but also enthusiastic and inclusive. Finally, she is smart, a quick study with a tremendous breadth of knowledge but eager to learn what she doesn’t know. She is a born organizer and process builder, methodical and analytical.
Consistently, she will go above and beyond to make sure that her team is engaging at peak capacity. She is locked in to the cultural zeitgeist and her influences are as varied as they are vast. Lily’s biggest strength, however, is her personality. She is funny, warm and makes connections with others easily. She is a thoroughly nice person who is not afraid to make hard decisions when they are needed. I wholeheartedly recommend Lily and would work with her in a minute given the opportunity.”
– Colin Boswell, Former C.O.O./C.T.O. @ Visceral Games/EA
